Cangzhou Trade and Investment Mission Visited Lagos,Recently

A Trade and Investment Mission headed by Ms Wu Fengqin from Cangzhou Commercial Bureau of Hebei Province,China, visited Lagos last week for 5 days and had talks with Nigeria Government leaders and principals such as Mr.Senator Kola,Chairman and Senate Committee on Industries of the Republic of Nigeria, Mr.Lanre Balogun, Commissioner for Commerce and Industries of Lagos,Mr.Kutryi, Vice President of Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industries under the direction and arrangement of the economic and commercial office of the Consulate General of China in Lagos The delegation members also met with different enterprises from Nigeria in the related industries respectively.

Mr.Hu Yujie, the consul of the economic and commercial office of the Consulate General of China in Lagos gave an introduction of Nigeria trade and investment to the delegation when it paid him a curtsey visit, requiring that every one whom wants to do business and invest in Nigeria should study Nigeria trade and investment climates. He encouraged Chinese people to trade and invest in Nigeria on the condition of abiding by this country’s laws. saying that the economic and commercial office of The Consulate General of China in Lagos will do itself best to promote the bilateral trade and cooperation between China and Nigeria by giving the consultants and investors from China necessary help.

Mr. Mr.Senator Kola,Chairman and Senate Committee on Industries of the Republic of Nigeria urged Chinese delegation members to do more research work on Nigeria soils before they invest in fertilizer sector which is largely in demand in Nigeria countryside. Nigeria Government, according to him, is already to provide necessary funds for any fertilizer projects. Mr.Lanre Balogun, Commissioner for Commerce and Industries of Lagos also hoped the group to take advantages of the bans on importation issued by the Government recently and various preferential policies on tax, land and job quota as well as conditions in the five existing industrial parks in Lagos which is the perfect place for foreign businessman to trade and invest.Investors will get tremendous returns and Lagos Government will provide with safety assurance and logistics services, according to him.

The delegation members also talked with some Nigeria businessmen who are very interested in mining, oil drilling, auto piston, civil construction as well as agro-products process, expressing their desires to cooperate with the delegation members one after another and hoping that bilateral cooperation between the two side’s enterprises get breakthrough in the near future.

It was said that Mr Senator Kola,Chairman and Senate Committee on Industries of the Republic of Nigeria will organize a friendly group made up of Nigeria Governmental officers and enterprises concerned to pay a return visit to Cangzhou city of Hebei Province recently.The group will see more about the enterprises,seeking cooperation closely.
