A CHINESE State has agreed at the weekend to invest heavily in Osun State. The province of Hubei also agreed to be a sister state of Osun with all the attendant benefits.
Governor of the state, Mr. Luo Quingqua, told Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola who visited China that his state was interested in investing in agriculture, agro-based industries, transportation and communications.
He gave an immediate approval to the request of Governor Oyinlola for Osun and Hubei to be sister states while stating that a delegation of Hubei government officials and entrepreneurs would soon be in Osun to firm up the agreements.
Quingqua said he was impressed by the peace reigning in Osun State and the granting of a Free Trade Zone for the state while commending Oyinlola for his commitment to the development of his state's economy.
Oyinlola had earlier told his host that he was in China to further press for a broad-based investment in the state's vast potential in agriculture, solid minerals, transportation and hospitality industry, noting that China's phenomenal growth deserved to be studied and copied by African countries.
He congratulated the Hubei government for the industrial success it had become while calling for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two states.
